17 years ago, the world came to a standstill because of an electromagnetic pulse. Sophie’s village was taken over by the army and the general decided from that moment on what happened in the village. It is now 17 years later and Sophie is getting more than tired of the old-fashioned thinking. She resists the army and The Claiming Ritual. She also begins to doubt the words of the general and the purpose of the army in her village. To make matters worse, she is forced by the general to work with the arrogant Lieutenant Jason Bane. After a brief encounter with the rebel leader, her world is turned upside down. She questions the death of her father and the true story behind the rebels’ involvement in his death. Will Sophie manage to stay true to herself as her life changes so much. And who can she still trust in the village?
